V.W.Bro. Roger Quartly – District Grand Master

Born in 1958 in London, England and married in the City of London to my Kiwi wife, Robyn, I moved to New Zealand in 1982 and have two grown up children.
I have worked as a pump engineer in England, South Africa and New Zealand, and am now the Managing Director of a Pump Company based in West Auckland.
I was initiated, passed and raised into Lodge Kumeu 279, in 1991.  After working through the various chairs, I became Master in 1998 and again in 1999.  Also in 1998, I had the great pleasure of becoming a foundation member of Lodge Discovery No. 501.
In 2002, I became an active member of the Grand Lodge of New Zealand, in the position of Grand Steward.  In 2006, I was raised to the position of District Grand Director of Ceremonies.
For me, one of the most rewarding aspects of Freemasonry, has been the many great friendships I have formed since joining.
I have for several years carried out the duties of the Western District Secretary and for a time, District Communications Officer.
It is now my privilege to hold the position of District Grand Master for the 2008 – 2010 term.
